One of the sports which certainly caught the eye at the Olympics was Handball.  It rivalled Beach Volleyball for celebrity spectators and was one of the surprise packages of the games.  The Irish (Olympic) Handball Association is looking to capitalise on the curiosity by hosting a street handball tournament for 24 companies in Temple bar on Friday, September 28th.
The Irish National team will be helping out by supplying a player to each of the teams who will play a non contact version of the sport by way of an introduction.  Each team will be mixed with a minimum of four players and a maximum squad of eight.  Teams can be entered through www.olympichandball.org.
The night will also raise awareness of the World Sports Team charity, and funds for next year’s hosting of qualification matches in Ireland for the European Championships.
