Ulster Rugby has joined forces with BT in a three year three year partnership which sees the company take over as the Official Communications Partner of Ulster Rugby.
BT’s logo will appear on the Ulster Rugby shirt sleeve for all Heineken Cup and RaboDirect PRO 12 matches as well as friendlies.  It will also have a significant brand presence at Ravenhill, the home of Ulster Rugby.
The announcement of the new three year deal comes as a major boost to Ulster Rugby as they come off the back of a hugely successful 2011/12 season reaching the final of the Heineken Cup.
Peter Russell, Head of Public Sector & Major Accounts for BT in Northern Ireland said: “On behalf of everyone at BT I am delighted to announce our three year partnership with Ulster Rugby which we hope will bring success both on and off the field for both organisations.
“Ulster Rugby has proved itself to be a hugely progressive organisation making significant strides in performance and the development of rugby in Ulster,” said Peter Russell, Head of Public Sector & Major Accounts for BT in Northern Ireland.  “We hope to play our part in continuing to strive for success and provide the best possible experience for supporters of the game in the province.”
“BT as official communications services partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games can bring a huge amount of experience to the table in terms of sports sponsorship,” added Fiona Hampton, Head of Sales and Marketing for Ulster Rugby.  “We feel proud as an organisation that BT have chosen to sponsor Ulster Rugby and can identify with our ambitions.”
BT joins Bank of Ireland, Kukri and the Belfast Telegraph as the main partners of Ulster Rugby who also number Heineken, Coca Cola, Powerade and eleven other partners and suppliers in a comprehensive commercial portfolio.
The province is not resting on its laurels and will host a special business event for all local companies with whom it has any form of commercial relationship, from suppliers to ticket holders later this month.
BT’s new partnership with Ulster Rugby is a significant addition to its sponsorship portfolio which already includes the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in Dublin, the Derry – Londonderry UK City of Culture programme for 2013, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Olympic gymnast Kieran Behan.
