There has been strong feeling among the sporting community to a perceived slight in this week’s budget.
Strong views on the impact this will have, and unfavourable comparison to other areas of society will feature in a column I will be writing for this weekend’s Sunday Business Post, subject of course to the usual vagaries of editorial decision making.
I will also offer a perspective on the different challenges that sport faces in terms of funding in the short and long term.
This is an area of real complexity and there is no black and white, right or wrong approach.
