Liberty Insurance All Ireland Camogie Finals Launch 9/9/2014
Kilkenny fans won’t have to wait until Saturday September 27th to enjoy more final action in Croke Park with not one, but two teams, lining out this Sunday in the Liberty Insurance All Ireland Camogie Finals.

In the Senior Final, Kilkenny, beaten finalists in 2013, face a Cork side chasing a first win since 2009. While the Kilkenny hurlers have dominated the last decade, it was 1994 when Kilkenny last claimed the O’Duffy Cup.

This year marks the 110th anniversary of the Camogie Association. The six captains Anna Geary (Cork), Leann Fennelly (Kilkenny), Fiona Hickey (Limerick), Mags Fennelly (Kilkenny), Niamh Mallon (Down) and Sarah Ann Fitzgerald (Laois) were at Croke Park to launch the finals with one of the more imaginative launch pictures we’ve seen from Cathal Noonan of Inpho.

Group deals

The Camogie Association has released special advance purchase tickets and group deals. These include one adult and ten children gaining access for a total of only €50.

There is a first for Gaelic Games in there being reduced prices for tickets booked online and in advance of Sunday.

In addition, clubs, schools or counties who purchase under the Adult and Juvenile group rate will be entered into a draw to win a coaching session with Liberty Insurance ambassadors, Cork camogie player Anna Geary and Dublin hurler Liam Rushe.

Colour

Fans and clubs are also being encouraged to get involved in the action on Camogie Finals Day, and adding to the colour at the Stadium, by bringing a banner celebrating the Association’s 110th birthday.   The best banner will win €1000 for the school or club courtesy of Liberty Insurance.

“September marks an important month for Gaelic Games and this coming Sunday, September 14th, all Gaelic Games fans have an opportunity to see top camogie athletes representing their counties in Croke Park in the Liberty Insurance All Ireland Camogie Finals,” said President of the Camogie Association, Aileen Lawlor.

“So far, this has been a fantastic year for women in sport. All Ireland day presents an opportunity for our supporters and fans to come out and witness the great game we have and to share that experience and be part of a great national occasion.”

Our game your game

“In June, the Camogie Association launched Our Game Your Game a promotional campaign for championship 2014 to give people an insight into the lives of six of our top players, the game they play and the reasons they play it. The Finals mark the end of this season’s journey and provide a wonderful opportunity to see some of these players, on the biggest stage with the ultimate prize of an All Ireland title at stake. This year we celebrate our 110th birthday and I urge fans to come and make it an event to remember.”

Liberty Insurance, proud partner of GAA Hurling and Camogie, is insuring all three sets of the All Ireland winners’ medals on Sunday (as well as those of the 2014 Hurling and Football winners) against loss or theft during the lifetime of their sponsorship, up to and including the 2017 Championships.

“This has been another exciting year for Irish women in sport and the Camogie Association in particular, in this their 110th year anniversary celebrations,”  said Annette Ní Dhathlaoí, Head of Marketing for Liberty Insurance.

“We have witnessed tremendous skill, memorable encounters and closely contested matches with more to come on the 14th of September. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all the Junior, Intermediate and Senior teams who will take to the field on Sunday the very best of luck, hope they all enjoy the experience, and beir bua! I would also encourage supporters and players travelling from across the country, to be safe on their journey to and from Croke Park #drivesafer”.
