Cavan sports tech startup ClubSpot is offering the chance to all County Club Champions in the four principal Gaelic Games codes to avail of a free, club-branded mobile app and one year’s free subscription to ClubSpot’s club management platform.
If the offer was taken up by all potential qualifying clubs it would come to a value of more than €250,000. From a business perspective, it would also secure a significant foothold in the market.
At present Clubspot’s fellow Sport for Business member Clubforce is the dominant player but there is still significant growth to be mined across volunteer-run sport with in excess of 12,000 clubs having to manage in an increasingly sophisticated marketplace.
Having a digital footprint beyond the simple addition of a Facebook page will enable clubs to grow engagement, participation and membership, as well as provide online fundraising and member management tools.
“Giving back to volunteers who are the heart of local sports clubs is one of ClubSpot’s key missions,” said Clubspot advisor Bernard Jackman.
“We are delighted to announce this investment which aims to provide clubs with vital support and efficient software to grow their revenues, something which is of utmost importance due to rising club-running costs.”
ClubSpot has partnered with and provided custom apps to Rugby, Football and Basketball clubs across the country, and has plans to similarly invest in these sports in the future.
