The Ladies Gaelic Football Association is out to break its own all time attendance record at Croke Park this Sunday when perennial Champions Cork take on a Dublin side that came through a dramatic semi final win and has confidence that they can go one better than last year.
The previous record was set in 2001 when Mayo played Laois. Last year that 33,000 number was almost matched in a fixture that drew the largest attendance of any women only sporting event in Europe.
That’s the figure in sight again this weekend as LGFA President Marie Hickey shared with Jerome Quinn in this exclusive online interview recorded yesterday at Croke Park.
