Today’s video is from English Cricket who have painted a loving portrait of cricket in North County Dublin in a 20-minute online documentary tracing the life and history of England cricket captain Eoin Morgan through his growing up in the sport at Rush Cricket Club.
Morgan led England out against Ireland when they played at Malahide in 2013. They will return to the same venue in May 2019 ahead of an historic first full test match between the countries at Lords later in the summer.
The video does not shy away from the challenges faced playing an ‘English’ game during a time when the troubles in Northern Ireland were still very much to the fore.
The Cricket Ireland Annual Awards take place in Dublin tomorrow night when Rob Hartnett of Sport for Business will be MC for the evening.
