Irish sports fans are unusual in that their breath of interest takes in many different codes. It is more likely here that someone will go from one event to another over the course of a weekend and we always like to see crossover between how sports market themselves.
Show Jumping and Horse Racing may seem close in terms of affinity but both are coming together this weekend to offer fans of one a taste of the other. There is also a major social element to the combination of a joint ticket for the new Jumping in the City initiative at Dublin’s Shelbourne Park on Friday night and the 150th running of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh less than 24 hours later.
A combined ticket granting entry to both high end social events is a pretty good deal at only €30 and with the weather forecast remaining good it promises to be a winning weekend for both.
