The main news focus may have been on Sean Maguire getting a call up to the squad but for FAI partner SSE Airtricity the announcement of the squad at their Leopardstown offices on Monday was about connection.
“We’re always trying to give our customers a little bit more,” said Anne McAreavey, Sponsorship and Loyalty Manager at SSE Airtricity, speaking to Sport for Business.
“That extends to our own staff too and four of our team got to meet up with Martin today and get new shirts signed as well.”
Having the manager of the national team, and the attendant media interest around the building made it a day out of the ordinary for staff and the FAI has done it already this year with its main partner Three and in previous seasons around the city.
“As part of our SSE Rewards scheme all our customers get special offers and experiences based on our sponsorship portfolio.”
“We are currently running a special promotion to get to meet Martin’s assistant Roy Keane and to get a special trip over to the key qualifier in Wales.”
“It’s those kind of ‘money can’t buy’ experiences that we can use to really connect with the customers.”
“We are also running special days with the Make a Wish Foundation, tied in with the FAI and the national team and they are very important in the wider context.”
SSE Airtricity is also gearing up for the conclusion of the SSE Airtricity League and for the sold out Dublin Marathon where it will be active on the ground in October.
