eir has been unveiled as the official Guinness PRO14 Match Official Sponsor for the coming season.
The eir logo will appear on the front of Match Official jersey’s, shorts and tracksuits while also appearing on the bibs of the team medical staff, water carriers, ball boys, competition photographers and TV Crews.
“This new partnership will extend across all games in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Italy and South Africa and is a strong statement of our support for and investment in Rugby,” said eir Sponsorship manager Gordon Britchfield speaking to Sport for Business yesterday.
“Our presentation team for the games we will be showing live, and the production expertise we will bring to bear for our coverage in Ireland, are second to none but we wanted to go a little deeper with fans across the PRO14 and being visible at every match on the shirts of the officials does just that.”
“This sponsorship has allowed us to invest record amounts in our match officials which will make a significant impact in the Guinness PRO14 over the next three seasons,” added PRO14 Rugby CEO Martin Anayi.
The matches will be covered across a variety of host broadcasters in each of the competing nations with the new broadcast deals signed earlier this year pushing the PRO14 into the top echelons of Rugby tournaments.
A number of new international broadcast deals in other markets are also believed to be at a late stage of negotiation and they will push revenue for the clubs to another new high.
