DCU overcame city rivals UCD to get to this stage on their home ground and will face an IT Carlow team making their first appearance at this level.
An early-stage two-point win over Garda College will not have augured well for the home team and heavy favourites tonight but wide margin wins against Queens University Belfast and UCD have given them a strong edge in most people’s minds.
Dublin stars Evan Comerford and Sean Bugler both featured in Saturday night’s Allianz League opener at Croke Park for Dublin but are back in college mode for tonight alongside fellow inter-county stars Paddy Small of Dublin, Brian Stack of Roscommon and Jordan Morrisey who will be pitched against the banner carriers of his native Carlow.
