Companies and their workforces are being encouraged to take up a sporting challenge in May.  The Irish Sports Council is promoting the initiative and will host an awards night in June to recognise what particular companies might have achieved.
Staff are to be encouraged through companies setting their own measurable goals and the company will write a report at the end of the month that will form the basis of the awards.  The kind of goals used in promotion of the challenge includes cycling the distance of the Tour de France or swimming the distance of the Irish Sea.
The challenge will provide an opportunity to build relationships and to encourage physical activity as part of the working dynamic in people’s lives. In order to qualify for a certificate and a possible award, an application form needs to be completed and submitted to the Council by next Monday, April 23rd.
Sport for Business will be announcing details shortly about a competitive Corporate Challenge to take place over the late summer period.
