William Hill has launched a brand new Gaelic Games focused chat show and podcast, hosted by Mayo legend Lee Keegan and broadcaster Dave McIntyre.
The 15-part series, which will air every Thursday, features the two hosts along with special guests from football and hurling who will talk about their own careers, the highs, the lows and the characters they’ve encountered along the way.
Analysis of the current All-Ireland Championship will be discussed, but the core premise of the show is to deliver revealing and insightful discussions with the guests and the sport at large. The first episode had Kerry All Ireland winner Darren O’Sullivan in the hot seat.
The show is produced and created by Fabric Social on behalf of William Hill.
“The aim is to bring a fresh, dynamic and interesting entertainment show to viewers,” said Evan Fanning of Fabric Social who was one of the contributors to the Sport for Business TikTok Masterclass we ran earlier in the year.
“Lee is one of the greatest players of his generation and now a leading analyst, while Dave is the foremost broadcaster in the country.”
“But we feel this show offers them the platform to showcase something slightly different – to lead in-depth conversations with some of the biggest names in the sport.”
“We feel there is a gap in the market to create a GAA chat show that really connects with fans across the country; whether they consume The Square Ball on TV on a Friday night, on their commute to work in podcast form, or through short-form clips on their social platforms.”
“After months of planning, we are truly excited about the launch of The Square Ball,” added Andrew McCleave, Head of Marketing at William Hill Ireland.
“We feel the creativity and direction of the show will bring something new to Gaelic Games fans in Ireland, and we wanted to be part of that conversation.”
“It’s more important than ever to support Gaelic games, and we are very proud to be launching this show to connect and engage with supporters in a fun and different way. We’re looking forward to seeing how it unfolds in the coming months.”
The Square Ball will be available to view on The Square Ball YouTube channel, Apple Podcasts and Spotify and William Hill Ireland Instagram and Twitter/X accounts
