Mary McAleese has agreed to become the independent Chairperson of the integration process between the Camogie Association, the GAA, and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.

Over the course of the past year, since each association approved the closer working together by a 90 percent plus majority, all three Gaelic Games Associations separately
discussed integration towards a One Association model.

Now the project gathers more momentum with the additional appointment of Mark Dorman as Project Manager for the integration. Dorman has long been a key part of the management team at Croke Park Stadium.

A timeline on discussions between Chairperson McAleese and the three Associations will be agreed in the coming weeks to advance the project.

This is another positive step in the road towards closer integration that is already substantially delivered in many clubs and has the right attitude at the senior level. The greater challenge will be in gaining the right support at the provincial and county levels where three boards into one will be a tricky numerical and philosophical game to play and win.
