Frontier Sports Management has launched this morning, following on from the announcement of the parent Frontier Sports led by Dermot Rigley last week.
The new talent management business is a partnership between Rigley and his former colleague at PRO14 rugby Chris Best.
They have kicked off with a bang unveiling Ireland rugby internationals Ronan Kelleher, Rory O’Loughlin and Adam Byrne, as well as Leinster’s Nick McCarthy as part of the group whose affairs they will be managing.
It is a busy marketplace with Niall Woods at Navy Blue Sports and David McHugh at Line Up both having extensive networks across the professional game and into other areas. Galvin Sports management and Sport Endorse are other players in the representation space.
Competition is always a positive though and it will be interesting to see how the arrival of frontier Sports Management reshapes the current landscape, especially at a time of real change within rugby.
Experience
“Frontier Sports Management has significant experience in the business of sport, and we believe approaching talent management from a different perspective will ultimately benefit the players,” said Head of talent, Chris Best, a 2018 ‘alumni of the Sport for Business 30 under 30.
“We will be obsessed with helping athletes get the absolute most from their careers. For us, that obsession will apply to all aspects of their life, from driving their commercial opportunities, helping them plan for their future career, contract work and capitalising on their profile. We hope to do it all with a personal touch tailored for each individual athlete.”
“We are delighted with the calibre of athlete that we are launching today with.”
“We think our stable already has such potential within it. We have players who are all capable of playing for the country and beyond, so it’s very exciting.”
“Ultimately, we will treat each player uniquely and have created an environment within Frontier whereby our players thrive. We’re really looking forward to beginning the journey with the players and helping them achieve their goals.”
Frontier Sports, Navy Blue Sports, Sport Endorse, Line Up Sports and Galvin Sports Management are among the more than 250+ members of the Sport for Business network of sporting and business organisations working together across a number of key areas.
