Glenveagh Homes has agreed a three-year extension to its sponsorship of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association’s Gaelic4Girls programme.

In addition the home builder will also sponsor the LGFA’s National Volunteer of the Year awards for the next three years.

Gaelic4Girls is an eight-week programme incorporating coaching sessions with fun, non-competitive blitzes aimed at increasing participation in Ladies Gaelic Football.

Glenveagh Homes have sponsored the Gaelic4Girls programme since 2021 and the company has renewed its commitment to what has become a thriving initiative.

The programme targets girls aged 8-12 years who are not currently registered with a Ladies Gaelic Football club.

Meanwhile, applications for the 2024 Glenveagh Homes LGFA National Volunteer of the Year awards close on Friday November 22, with winners to be announced in ten categories.

The LGFA scheme, in its eighth year, acknowledges the work of volunteers working in and around the sport.

Glenveagh Homes sponsored the 2023 awards for the first time and have now extended this second key relationship.

“Glenveagh Homes have already left an indelible mark on our Gaelic4Girls programme with their remarkable commitment to the sponsorship,” said Ladies Gaelic Football Association President Mícheál Naughton.

“There is a real synergy between the work that we do with the Gaelic4Girls programme, and the impact of Glenveagh Homes in local communities.”

“That was further enhanced this year when Glenveagh Homes sponsored our 2023 National Volunteer of the Year awards, which acknowledged outstanding contributions from individuals across the various categories.”

“Glenveagh Homes don’t just build homes, they build lasting communities and their work resonates strongly with our community ethos.”

“Their vision of fostering flourishing communities matches our own work at grassroots level with aspiring young Ladies Gaelic Footballers, and our acknowledgment of the selfless work that our volunteers carry out.”

“We look forward to working with Glenveagh Homes over the next three years and thank them for their superb sponsorship to date.”

“At Glenveagh, we are proud sponsors of many brilliant clubs and initiatives at the heart of communities across the country,” said Head of Community Engagement, Annette McGarry.

“As such, we are delighted to continue our support for the LGFA’s Gaelic4Girls programme and our sponsorship of the National Volunteer Awards for 2025 further complements our existing partnership with the LGFA and the successes of Gaelic4Girls, both which align closely with our Building Lasting Communities initiative.”

“We look forward to collaborating with the LGFA to ensure the continued success of these programmes in 2025 and beyond.”
