The Dublin Marathon Group has confirmed a new two-year partnership with performance nutrition brand Grenade, which will become the official Protein Bar Partner across its flagship running events.

The agreement covers the Dublin City Council Dublin City Half Marathon, the Irish Life Dublin Marathon and the Irish Life Dublin Race Series, supporting thousands of participants at key moments of recovery following both training and race-day efforts.

Grenade, known globally for its high-protein products, will provide nutrition support to runners as they cross the finish line, targeting what is widely regarded as a crucial recovery window after endurance activity.

The collaboration reflects a shared focus on fuelling performance, aiding recovery and promoting active lifestyles within Ireland’s growing running community.

The post-race period is seen as particularly important for participants of all levels, from elite competitors to first-time finishers, with proper refuelling helping to kick-start recovery after completing long-distance events.

Dublin Marathon Group CEO Seán O’Riain said the partnership aligns with a continued effort to enhance the race-day experience.

“As the Dublin Marathon Group continues to grow our events, it’s important that we evolve the race-day experience in line with the needs of our running community,” he said.

“Partnerships like this allow us to add meaningful value to participants while aligning with brands that understand the dedication it takes to prepare for races run by the Dublin Marathon Group. Our focus is always on delivering an inclusive, world-class experience for every runner.”

Grenade Ireland Brand Manager Maighréad Lynch said the deal provides an opportunity to connect directly with a large and engaged audience of runners.

“We are delighted to partner with Dublin Marathon Group and support two of Ireland’s most iconic running events,” she said.

“Grenade is passionate about helping people power up their performance and recover stronger, and this partnership allows us to connect directly with thousands of runners who share that commitment to pushing their limits and achieving their goals.”

The partnership will come into effect across the 2026 race calendar, further strengthening the support infrastructure available to participants at some of Ireland’s best-known running events.
