PwC, Permanent TSB and AIB were among the Sport for Business members that took part in last night’s Grant Thornton 5K road race in Cork.

Starting on Kennedy Quay the runners hugged the River Lee and looped around Pairc Uí Chaoimh before making their way back towards the City.

After a warm and sunny summer they might have hoped for better conditions but it is Ireland and so the rain came down.

In all, there were almost 400 runners and 63 teams that took part.

Andrew Hobbs of Johnson Controls won the Men’s Individual Race in a time of 16:39 with Siobhán Hoare of Grant Thornton taking the Female race in 18:50.

O’Mahony Pike Architects won the Team event with three of their team coming inside the Top 10.
