The Hula Hoops Basketball National Cup Finals took place at the National Basketball Arena over the weekend with two full sessions broadcast live on TG4 and full crowds packing the arena to see Swords Thunder and Glanmire win the Men’s and Women’s Titles.
President Michael D. Higgins was there on Saturday night as well adding extra sparkle to one of the liveliest sporting nights of the year.
Hula Hoops inserted their presence through court side advertising but also with a team of hula hoop dancers who came on to perform during breaks in the play.

Basketball Ireland will this year host the European U18 Women’s Basketball Championships in August, with games taking place at the National Basketball Arena and the new National Indoor Arena at the National Sports Campus.
