The Irish Independent’s taste for sport in Cork has produced another new partnership in the city with the media company taking over sponsorship of the Irish Independent Laurels, the biggest event of the year at Cork’s Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium.
The deal involves a blend of cash and advertising support for the stadium. It enables the race to offer a prize fund of €65,000 which will be promoted around the country and the UK.
“We consider this partnership as a key way to engage directly not only with the Greyhound Racing community but to the various audiences that attend a night at the dogs for social events and nights out,” said Arlene Regan, marketing Manager for Irish Independent Newspapers.
The group also sponsors Irish Independent Park, the Cork home of Munster Rugby.
