Today is International Women’s Day and Sport for Business will be attending events at Sport Ireland, with Golf Ireland, and with the FAI and Sky throughout the day.
We are in the midst of Women in Sport Week and the amount of engagement that is taking place with a specific focus on girls and women in sport is significant.
We have covered activities and reports across the first two specifically themed days of High Performance on Monday and Coaching and Officiating on Tuesday. We will do likewise around the themes of Leadership and Governance, Active Participation and Visibility and Events through the rest of the week.
On Friday we will publish our latest survey of how the mainstream Irish sporting media is stacking up in its overall coverage of Women’s sport. The early analysis this week suggests there is still a way to go so while today should be a celebration it is also important that we realise there is still a road to travel before today’s theme of ‘Embrace equity’ is no longer needed because it is already there.
Here is another selection of the projects and activities taking place across the Irish sporting ecosystem.
Happy International Women’s Day!
