The Irish Sport Industry Awards have received a record number of nominations across the nine categories open to public nomination.
Over the next week the panel of judges selected from across the sector will be filtering, analysing and determining a shortlist in each of the categories.
The winners will then be named at a star studded gathering of Irish sport and business leaders in the Banking Hall at the College Green Hotel in Dublin on the evening of May 28th.
The categories are:
Best Sports Sponsorship
Best use of Communications Platform in Sport
Best Initiative to Promote Women in Sport and Physical activity
Best initiative to Promote inclusivity in Sport and Physical activity
Governing Body of the Year
Local Sports Partnership of the Year
Best New Sports Business of the Year
Best Sports Business of the Year in partnership with Technology Skillnet Ireland
Women in Business in Sport in Partnership with KPMG
There are two closed categories to be decided by the Judging panel
The Jimmy Magee award for Sports Journalist of the year
Outstanding Contribution to Irish Sport
The Judging panel will be chaired by Sport for Business Founder Rob Hartnett and includes Jill Downey, Chief Sustainability and Sponsorship Officer at Core, Ciaran medlar, Head of the Sports Advisory Unit at BDO Ireland, Brenda O’Donnell, CEO at Active Disability Ireland, Stephen Bradshaw, Head of marketing at Close Brothers Motor Finance, Hannah Craig, Women in Sport Manager at Sport Ireland, Maeve Buckley Founder of Leading Sport, Mary McGuire, Head of Sponsorship at Legacy Communications, Brian Staunton, NGB Support Unit Manager with Sport Ireland and Catherine Tiernan, Commercial Director of the Olympic Federation of Ireland.
It will be a tough week of judgement and a great night of celebration.
