A new initiative aimed at transforming female participation in golf will be officially unveiled on January 21st with the launch of The Pitch Women’s Academy, an ambitious programme designed to empower women to play, lead, and thrive in the sport.

Taking place at Pitch, the launch event will run from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm and promises an engaging and social evening that blends inspiration with hands-on experience.

The programme reflects the growing appetite for inclusive, female-led pathways into sport, particularly in golf, where participation and leadership gaps still remain.

The launch night will feature a panel discussion with a dynamic group of women drawn from sport, media and business, alongside a practical introduction to golf, including demonstrations and coaching.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with like-minded peers, with complimentary drinks and canapés served on arrival, reinforcing the Academy’s focus on community as well as capability.

The panel for the launch includes Dearbhla Silke, creator and presenter; Stephanie Roche, whose playing career and advocacy have made her a leading voice for women in sport; Anna Foster, a current Ladies European Tour player; and Sarah O’Connor, CEO of Wilson Hartnell.

Together, they will share personal insights from their careers, discussing confidence, opportunity and navigating traditionally male-dominated spaces.

The Pitch Women’s Academy will run across six bi-monthly events, bringing together women from sport, business and beyond. By combining skill development, leadership conversation and peer support, the Academy aims to lower barriers to entry and create a sustainable pipeline for women’s involvement in golf at every level.

The launch marks another step forward in the broader movement to make golf more accessible, social and relevant to women, positioning The Pitch Women’s Academy as a platform for participation, progression and connection in Irish sport.
