Leinster Rugby are leaning into the history of Croke Park ahead of Saturday’s sold out Investec Champions Cup Semi-Final against Northampton.
Marty Morrissey, Micheál O’Muircheartaigh and Marcus Ó Buachalla’s voices overlay with commentary some of the iconic scenes that have created the storied past of the venue that is always more than just a venue.
Marcus’s role as Senior Communications and Media Manager with Leinster, doubled down with occasional appearances as a TG4 commentator on matches at the stadium means he is more familiar than most but it is also an indication of the intricate bonds that tie Irish sports together.
In few other countries would there be the same crossover of passions that would foster the emotion that Irish Rugby players like Jerry Flannery and John Hayes show in the video.
The stadium hosted one of Leinster’s greatest days when they beat Munster in the same tournament more than a decade ago. A youthful Paul O’Connell and Leo Cullen played their parts that day, as did Brian O’Driscoll who scored a spectacular try.
Now once more it will be the scene of high emotion and hopefully victory on Saturday.
