The Irish Sponsorship Summit took place at Croke Park yesterday in front of a powerful gathering of sponsorship, marketing, sports and entertainment professionals.
There was a fascinating and very open discussion with Karl Donnelly of Three, Edel McCarthy of Electric Ireland and Mark Doyle of AIB around the nature of sponsorship and the kind of properties that brands are and should be interested in supporting.
There was an insight into the way that sponsorships are activated on a global level, and some valuable lessons for all from Alex Shapiro of Visa and Ashley Bowen of IMG, and a peak into how technology is changing everything from Andrew Jenkinson of VStream.
Bowen brought us into the world of FAANG – Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google to explore the changing world of media through brands that did not exist when some sponsorship commitments were first entered into.
The European Tour told a powerful story of how to engage brands and social media producing 40 million impressions for last year’s Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open.
Sport for Business is proud to be a part of the Sponsorship sector in Ireland, a field in which Ireland is a leading player but always willing to learn, just as it should be.
