Marks & Spencer has announced a partnership with the Munster Rugby Senior Women’s team, as part of its Eat Well campaign.
The partnership was officially launched at Thomond Park Stadium, Limerick by Munster captain Nicole Cronin and teammates Chloe Pearse, Róisín Ormond, Claire Bennett and Stephanie Nunan.
As part of the sponsorship, M&S will be providing players with nutritious produce pre-match and during training throughout the 2023/2024 season. The partnership will also involve a collaborative programme of free educational online resources for people across Ireland to support healthy eating and living.
“This is an exciting step for us at M&S – to work with and support such a talented group of athletes,” said Eddie Murphy, Trading Director at M&S Ireland.
“We’re known for our quality at M&S, we are excited to partner with a team known for their quality on the pitch.”
“Through our partnership with Munster Rugby, we want to help promote healthy eating and healthy choices at great value every day. Food fuels all of us, just as it fuels the Munster players.”
“We are delighted to be back in partnership with M&S Ireland, a hugely respected brand and household name,” added Dave Kavanagh, Munster Rugby Head of Commercial and Marketing.
“It’s even more exciting to launch this partnership exclusively with our Women’s squad, expanding to the wider community through some great healthy living and eating initiatives.”
M&S was previously a partner of Munster Rugby so it is good to see them back though sport is a much smaller part of their marketing programme than it is for rivals Lidl, Aldi, and SuperValu.
Let’s hope this is the start of something bigger.
