A brand new event in the fitness space has been launched this morning to take place in Dublin in April 2022.

National Fitness Games UK have partnered with TITAN Experience and Navy Blue Sports to launch a major new event in the Functional Fitness space with a session given over on the opening day to a corporate version of the Games.

Dublin has been selected as the first destination outside of the UK for NFG, which has established a strong footprint in Britain since being founded by former Rugby international Kenny Logan and Mark Hartnett-Morgan in 2018.

The event will take place in University College Dublin from April 22nd to 24th 2022.

NFG FitGames is a test of power, endurance, speed and strength and is open to all levels of Functional Fitness from Novice (NOVO) to Intermediate (OPEN) and Elite.

Friday will see the inaugural NFG Corporate FitGames take place where up to 50 companies from around the country will compete against each other to be crowned FitGames Champions. Sport for Business will be there on the day with a lounge area for recovery and casual networking, and we are looking forward to seeing who will emerge on top.

We will also carry features on how companies from across our network are getting ready over the weekend and months until the games.

Friday will also see the flagship Elite competition take place for Individual Males and Females with the title of Ireland’s Fittest Male / Female up for grabs.

Saturday and Sunday will be devoted to team events. Athletes will sign up to compete in teams of 4 (Male, Female and Mixed) in the Novo and Open categories. Availability will be limited to just 190 teams each day and this is sure to prove popular among the 1,000’s of gyms and leisure facilities around the country.

“We have been in talks with several international rightsholders over the past two years in terms of bringing a new dynamic fitness event platform to our Irish audience,” said Eoin Conroy, CEO of Titan Experience.

“Niall Woods and his team at Navy Blue Sports put NFG on our radar in June of 2020 and we have worked together diligently with founders, Mark Hartnett-Morgan and Kenny Logan to deliver the fitness event of the year in April 2022.”

“It promises to be a fantastic weekend of competition with a number of exciting elements to guarantee a brilliant experience for all of our competitors and attendees.”

“I’ve known Mark (Hartnett-Morgan) and Eoin (Conroy) for many years and bringing an NFG event to Ireland felt like a natural collaboration for all of us,” added Woods.

“It’s been great to work alongside the teams at NFG and TITAN over the past year, getting to a position where we are now launching NFG FitGames Ireland.”

“The partnership between Navy Blue Sports, NFG and TITAN brings together a wealth of experience, enabling us bring an exciting, fun and energetic weekend of fitness to UCD next April.”

“We are really excited to be bringing NFG to Ireland,” said Hartnett-Morgan. “It’s been in the works for some time now and we’re just ecstatic that Dublin is on the NFG calendar. We wanted to set the bar very high and with a reputation second to none, partnering with TITAN, Navy Blue Sports and choosing UCD was the best place to start.”

“The NFG community is growing and I’d invite all Irish athletes to come experience a fitness event like no other”
