Over 11,000 students from across Dublin and more again in the South West packed Leopardstown and Limerick racecourses on Wednesday for the Spin 103.8 student raceday.
It was like a graduation, a summer party and a fashion show rolled into one, and the sun shone so everyone went home happy. VeroModa and Jack and Jones sponsored the fashion stakes and there were certainly more suits and heels on display than you would see on a normal evening in UCD or DIT.
The day has become a part of student life tradition now with recent graduates getting all nostalgic on social media.
A big winner for racing, for the racecourses involved and a smart way to get the next generation of racing fans hooked on the social side of a day at the races.
And well done to Sallynoggin College who won the pantomime horse race…
