The Olympic Council of Ireland has published a list of the times that each of Ireland’s largest ever team of athletes will be in action. RTE has everything in place for its broadcast of 2,300 hours of live coverage.
This will be possible through 12 HD streams via online and mobile platforms while the broadcaster will have a position overlooking the Olympic Park for news and interviews.
Those watching through traditional TV will see up to 255 hours of programming on RTET 2 over the 17 day course of the games.
A number of the 24 expert panellists that will feature through the games were present yesterday at Montrose to preview their own events. These included Kenneth Egan and Bernard Dunne from boxing, Ailis McSweeney from athletics, Andrew Bree from swimming and international Gymnastics judge Mairead Kavanagh.
We have looked in recent weeks at how we will view the first Socialympics and at the longer term future for Olympic Broadcasting.
