A special event will take place in Dublin this evening where the main partner of the Irish Olympic team for 2016 will be unveiled.
Sport for Business will be live at the Odeon Cinema beside the Three Arena when the brand is revealed that will be working hard to ensure its activation plans bring the exploits of our Olympians to as wide an audience as possible.
A host of those who will be in Rio are expected to be on hand when Olympic Council of Ireland President Pat Hickey unveils the brand. These are likely to include Paul McGinley, Paddy Barnes, Katie Taylor and Natalya Coyle all of whom will be hoping to represent Ireland on the biggest sporting stage there is.
It will be a timely announcement to counter the sense of gloom that there is this morning around Ireland’s Rugby World Cup departure.
That’s the beauty of sport, that as one dream ends another begins to form.
As to who the likely sponsor will be, we cannot say but we hope they will bring a powerful team to bear on putting our athletes in the spotlight they deserve.
