Pairc Uí Chaoimh opens up this evening to a sell-out watching Rugby on the pitch for the first time ever.

Munster Rugby has a strong tradition of taking on the best in the world, and famously beating them and tonight will see a South Africa XV put their reputation as reigning world champions on the line.

Pinergy is the official presenting partner of the game and called on former Munster Rugby star, Tomás O’Leary, for a provincial-wide call out to fans to turn the Páirc red, #PoweringTheDifference for the big game.

It is also running a ticket hunt across social media channels to give one last chance to grab a spot in the ground.

Fans are being encouraged to come in red and in full voice as they will be joined by the Munster Rugby Supporters Choir, who will energise the 41,000-strong crowd with what is set to be a rousing rendition of Stand Up And Fight.

The game will be televised live on Virgin Media Two this evening from 7-30 PM.

To mark the historic occasion, Pinergy has also created a bespoke Shield (pictured above) that will be presented to the winning captain. The Shield marks the historic occasion of the game and was unveiled at last night’s Gala Dinner at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. The unique trophy has been specially created for the game by Munster Rugby sponsor, Keanes Jewellers, while a Player of the Match award will also be presented by Pinergy at the game.

“We’re really looking forward to the game this evening and cannot wait to see the action unfold on the pitch,” said Pinergy CEO Enda Gunnell.

“We have been proud supporters of Munster Rugby for some time now, and we are delighted to support this game – which has additional significance, given the long history between the two sides. We have no doubt that fans will be out in full voice and will help us to turn the Páirc red for the occasion, as we add a new chapter to the Páirc’s history, and support Munster Rugby in their bid to add yet another famous victory to the history books.”

“We are really looking forward to welcoming fans from across the province and further afield to Páirc Uí Chaoimh,” added Head of Commercial and Marketing at Munster Rugby, Dave Kavanagh.

“We are delighted to have our long-time supporters, Pinergy, on board as the presenting partner for what is set to be a truly memorable occasion.”

As the Official Energy Partner of Munster Rugby, Pinergy is not only #PoweringTheDifference for the province at this evening’s game and through their support of the Munster Schools Senior Cup, but also in supporting Munster Rugby on their journey to a more sustainable future, supplying 100 percent renewable energy to Munster’s Thomond Park and Musgrave Park and helping them to optimise consumption through smart measurement of their electricity and LED lighting retrofits. Pinergy also started a new 10-year partnership with the province in 2021 with plans to install a significant Solar PV project at Cork’s Musgrave Park in the coming months to support Munster Rugby’s objective to become one of the most sustainable brands in world rugby.
