Moran and Bewleys first became involved with Paralympic sport in 2011 and provided facilities for the Irish team in the buildup to London 2012, where they delivered an record breaking 16 medals.
The latest partnership is an extension of this and will consist of the provision of accommodation, meeting and event facilities that would otherwise me a major drain on resource and finance.
Discus thrower Orla Barry, who won medals at both London 2012 and the 2013 World Championships in Lyon is to be a brand ambassador for the partnership.
“We were thrilled to be involved with the incredible Irish Paralympic success at London 2012 and are delighted to help Paralympics Ireland prepare for the challenge of Rio 2016,” said Adrian Sherry, group marketing manager for Moran and Bewley’s Hotels.
“The performances of Irish Paralympic athletes like Orla Barry are hugely inspiring and we will be supporting them every step of the way.”
The Moran Hotel Group was one of 16 commercial partners which Paralympics Ireland had on the way to London 2012. These included Allianz and Cadbury which have already committed their support again.
“In Beijing 2008 we had only one commercial partner,” said Paralympics Ireland Commercial Director Patrick Haslett.
“This agreement with Moran and Bewley’s Hotels is another step in our building capacity to deliver for our athletes in support of the way they deliver for Ireland.”
