Pinergy have announced a new brand ambassadorship with Peter O’Keeffe, one of Ireland’s elite amateur golfers.
As part of the three-year deal, Pinergy is also joining in a commercial partnership with O’Keeffe’s specialised golf business, Golf Strong, a bespoke training programme for golfers aimed to maximise performance and help players stay on course to develop their golf game.
With two Irish Amateur Open titles and an Irish Close Championship on his CV, the Douglas native was once a professional golfer, now playing a starring role on the amateur circuit.
Coinciding with this year’s earlier announcement which saw Pinergy named as Official Sponsors of one of Golf’s most well-known cups, the Pinergy Woodbrook Scratch Cup across both the Women’s and Men’s Cups, Peter O’Keeffe claimed the Pinergy Woodbrook Men’s Senior Scratch Cup title in 2023, setting a course record on his way to victory of the prestigious tournament.
O’Keeffe combined a golf scholarship at Louisiana State University with a degree in exercise management and he established Golf Strong in 2015 to combine the two.
The business grew during lockdown and now operates two studios at Douglas Golf Club in Cork and the Hermitage in Dublin.
It has developed an app so that clients can dive into personal fitness programmes that are specific to building and retaining mobility.
The age range of the clients is from young children through popular academy classes all the way to older players looking to regain or retain the right degree of strength to continue developing their golf game.
It is something which the professionals do as standard and this is a great way of bringing it to the wider public who invest significantly in their game and can now do so physically as well as financially.
