Munster Rugby and Game sponsors Pinergy are calling on fans to turn Páirc Uí Chaoimh red for this weekend’s bank holiday clash at the stadium against Crusaders.
The game is a complete sell-out and there is growing excitement about another big day in the story of Munster.
Fans are being asked to wear red for the historic fixture in the iconic Cork venue. Pinergy will also be supporting Páirc Uí Chaoimh in full Munster voice for the game, by bringing the Munster Rugby Supporters Club Choir to add to the atmosphere.
To mark the historic occasion, Pinergy has also created a bespoke trophy that will be presented to the winning captain on the night.
The trophy created by fellow Munster Rugby partner, Keanes Jewellers, marks what is a momentous occasion with Munster once again continuing their strong tradition of welcoming touring sides to the province.
A Player of the Match award will be presented by Pinergy at the game.
Saturday’s game will see Munster Rugby aim to secure another historic win over a Southern Hemisphere team, this time, for the first time, facing up against a Super Rugby side, 2023 Champions Crusaders.
Munster, having delivered inspirational wins in the past, welcomes the Christchurch powerhouse following on from the historic 2022 fixture against South Africa A.
On what is a historic night for the city, Pinergy are delighted to help bring the event back to Cork and want to remind fans of the shuttle buses available from the city to the grounds on the day.
“We at Pinergy are very excited and looking forward to the game this weekend between two formidable clubs brought together for the first time,” said Enda Gunnell, Pinergy CEO.
“The energy both on and off the pitch is set to be one of great measure as the sold-out fixture bodes testament to the significance of this clash of champions. As we continue our proud support of Munster Rugby, we are delighted to support this game and encourage all fans to get behind the occasion and turn the Páirc red in the iconic venue. With so many unique ties between both sides, the emotion and excitement sets the game up to be a real thriller. Let’s hope it’s another famous victory for Munster Rugby history.”
“We are delighted to finally have this highly-anticipated fixture upon us as we look ahead to yet another first in Irish rugby,” added Munster rugby CEO Ian Flanagan.
“We know the power and atmosphere that Munster supporters bring on these big occasions and the huge boost it gives to the team. We are really looking forward to welcoming fans from all over the country to Páirc Uí Chaoimh. We are excited to see and hear the Red Army taking over the stadium once again.”
As Official Energy Partner of Munster Rugby, Pinergy is not only supporting the province at this weekend’s game and through their support of the Munster Schools Senior Cup, but also in supporting Munster Rugby on their journey to a more sustainable future, supplying renewable energy to Munster’s Thomond Park and Virgin Media Park and helping them to optimise consumption through smart measurement of their electricity and LED lighting retrofits.
In 2021, Pinergy also started a new 10-year partnership with the province with plans already underway to support Munster Rugby’s objective to become one of the most sustainable brands in world rugby.
