Charles Hughes Ltd., the parent company of Portwest Ireland, has confirmed the renewal of its agreement as the Official Workwear Partner of Croke Park.
Under the new deal, Portwest will continue to provide durable and sustainable workwear for Croke Park’s staff and volunteers. The clothing is designed to meet the practical needs of stadium operations, from pitch preparation and maintenance to stewarding on major event days.
Croke Park hosts more than one million visitors annually for GAA fixtures, concerts, and community events. The partnership supports the stadium’s commitment to safety, comfort, and sustainability across its operations.
“We are delighted to partner with Croke Park, a venue that holds such cultural and sporting significance in Ireland,” said Rachel Davoren, Managing Director of Charles Hughes Ltd.
“At Portwest, we focus on creating workwear that is functional, safe, and comfortable. Supplying the Croke Park team with the gear they need for their work on and off match days fits naturally with what we do.”
, said the renewal continues a strong relationship between two long-established Irish organisations:
“We pride ourselves on working with companies that reflect the stadium’s and the GAA’s values and ethos,” added Peter McKenna, Croke Park Stadium Director.
“Portwest, a Westport-based company since 1904, does just that. The high standards we set ourselves across the stadium are well complemented by the quality gear our volunteer stewards and other staff will wear on match day.”
Founded in 1904 in Westport, Co. Mayo, Portwest is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of workwear, safety footwear and personal protective equipment. The company, part of Charles Hughes Ltd., employs more than 500 people at its Mayo headquarters and supplies products through hardware and agri retailers nationwide. It is also a sponsor of Mayo GAA.
