As the NFL season pushes towards the playoffs and interest heightens, Pundit Arena has announced that it is to host three weekly shows created under that existing banner of The Irish NFL Show.
American Football has a very solid core of fans in Ireland and the popularity of the sport as an experience is growing fast.
The Irish NFL Show began creating over two hours of video content a week at the beginning of the season.
Now as the season heads into Week 14 of 17 in the Regular season, it is moving into a partnership with the online and social sports content site.
The Irish NFL Show will share three broadcasts on the Pundit Arena Facebook and Twitter pages; their Sunday Show, Monday Night Football and Thursday Night Football.
A regular team of fans and experts, led by the founder of the project Michael McQuaid, will pull together all the latest news from across the Atlantic, extensive previews of upcoming games and discussion around the hot topics of the week.
In addition to that, written previews and analysis will be published weekly on Pundit Arena’s dedicated NFL hub.
“American Football is growing on the island of Ireland,” said McQuaid.
“We are proud to partner with Pundit Arena, one of Ireland’s largest digital sport media outlets to take our coverage to the next level.”
“Our specialised team have over 50 years experience of the National Football League and our content is aimed at both new and existing fans.”
“We see Pundit Arena as a perfect fit for our content and we share the same values – bringing quality content to an Irish and international audience. We are excited about the future growth of the game in Ireland and look forward to covering the sport for many years to come.”
US sport is well served in the podcast market with Around the NFL also producing multiple shows each week from Los Angeles and creating a loyal base of fans.
Sky Sports also produces weekly ‘Inside the Huddle’ content using its roster of familiar faces from its broadcast coverage.
OTB Sports has also been involved with The Snap podcast, while Sport for Business hosts a popular ‘pick em’ game each season.
It’s a relatively short season running September to February but in that time the action is fast and furious, and this will be a welcome addition to the potential outlets.
“Pundit Arena is delighted to partner with The Irish NFL Show to help bring their unique approach to NFL analysis to a wider audience,” said Matt Steerman, Commercial Director at Pundit Arena.
“With the interest in NFL growing ever larger, one gap in the market is having more Irish fans voices discussing their thoughts before and after game days.”
“In our first week we’ve seen a four-fold jump in viewership to their Sunday, Monday and Thursday shows, and look forward to continuing to explore ways to meet demand through bigger showcases around playoffs, Super Bowl and the Draft.”
The shows air at 12 pm on Sunday, and at 9 PM on Monday and Thursday.
