In advance of next week’s Her Outdoors Week, Sport Ireland has developed a video highlighting the different motivations of four real women who have found their own outdoor activity.
Included in the documentary-style series are Aisling and her mother Pam Beacom who have travelled all over the world with the Special Olympics Ireland competing in open water swimming. Aisling is an advocate for many and encourages females all over the country this year to “find their outdoors”.
It also includes the stories of Tarja Owens, Anais O’Donovan and of Irene Lowry who lost her husband during Covid-19 and has found the outdoors to be a lifesaver.
