RTÉ Sport has confirmed the first wave of 31 games it will cover live from this year’s All Ireland Championships in Football, Hurling and Camogie.

The three All Ireland Finals, as well as all six semi-finals and key games on the road to those will be shown with the action getting underway next Sunday at Parnell Park for Dublin against Kilkenny in the Leinster Hurling Championship and Elverys McHale Park in Castlebar for Mayo against Galway in the Connacht Football Championship.

This is the first year of the new formats in the Hurling and Football Championships and with both Finals brought forward by three weeks, there will be little room to breathe over the summer as the action comes thick and fast.

Hurling takes centre stage for the two following weeks and there will be doubleheaders most weekends on RTÉ2 as well as online and on radio.

The first two mega weekends of coverage will come on June 24th and July 1st when the Munster and Leinster Hurling Finals will share the afternoon followed by the Ulster and Leinster Football Finals.

Now in its 40th year Ireland’s premier GAA television programme, The Sunday Game, will also return on Sunday 13 May on RTÉ2 with presenter Des Cahill in the chair. The Sunday Game will have highlights of up to 100 games throughout the season providing definitive analysis on every Sunday of the Championship summer.

RTÉ Radio 1 has the full exclusive national coverage of every match in both hurling and football with commentaries featured on Saturday Sport and Sunday Sport

In addition to all the live action, Brian Carthy’s magazine programme, The Championship, returns to RTÉ Radio 1 on Friday nights at 10pm while The Marty Squad presented by Marty Morrissey will also return to Sundays, beginning May 13th at 6pm where we give the fans their chance to air their views

RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will have live commentary, reporting and analysis across its sports programmes and will broadcast up to 40 football matches, and more than 20 hurling games.

RTÉ Online will serve as the digital hub for all Championship coverage with match trackers and live score services on RTÉ.ie/sport and the News Now App, as well as through the broadcasters social media channels.

GAA fans living or travelling abroad will be able to watch live coverage of all televised 2018 GAA Championship matches from anywhere in the world with GAAGO, RTÉ and the GAA’s online streaming service for Gaelic Games outside of Ireland.

GAAGO subscribers can access over 130 events, including the 2018 GAA Championships, The Sunday Game highlights show and much more, with matches and programmes available to watch live and on-demand on any internet-enabled device.
