RTÉ’s Sunday Game Live Fixtures will be announced live today in a special broadcast on RTÉ News Now and the RTÉ Player.

It is a watershed year for the national broadcaster’s Gaelic Games coverage with Joanne Cantwell taking over from Michael Lysaght in the presenter’s chair for the live coverage.

There will be continuity in the evenings with Des Cahill returning again to host The Sunday Game.

Both of the main presenters will be hosting the programme which will go out live at 12 noon today.

The rest of the media will learn of the details of matches and some of the potential analysts that will be involved at the same time as the general population, continuing a trend in disintermediation whereby organisations are using technology and new forms of media to reach their direct audience with more of an unfiltered message.

Who better than RTÉ with their own channels and strength across new and mainstream media to be to the fore in that.
