Connacht Rugby Fan CallOver 1,000 Connacht Rugby Fans received a phone call surprise last night when 20 of the teams senior players took part in a phone-a-thon to thank them for their support last season and encourage them to sign up for season tickets for the year ahead.

This is the third year the province has undertaken the call out to fans and players took time to have a brief chat about how things have gone in pre-season and looking forward to the opening fixture of the new season at home to Newport Gwent Dragons on Saturday, September 6th.

The week before that, on Friday August 29th, Connacht will host an open training session for season ticket holders, followed by a Q&A session with head coach Pat Lam and team captain for the new season John Muldoon.

Entertainment

Star signing Mils Mulaini will also be present at the session after his summer arrival from New Zealand and there will be entertainment for kids through the evening.

“It’s great to connect with supporters and hear their own thoughts about the season,” said Connacht Development executive and former captain Gavin Duffy.

“I don’t think there was one person who didn’t appreciate the call when they got it on Tuesday night.”

“We have a very special club here and we want the fans to know how important their support is.”

Lifestyle Sports have come on board as main sponsors for the new season, alongside others including Mazda, Heineken, Tickets.ie and Deep RiverRock.  Connacht will compete in the Guinness PRO12 and the new European Rugby Challenge Cup in the new season.
