Skin in the Game is a documentary series starting tonight on produced by RTE that aims to look behind the scenes of what it takes to be a top amateur sports star in Ireland.
The trailer below promises a ‘show and tell’ of the challenges of combining family, work and life with achievement in sport at the highest level. The programme will feature the stories of Anna Geary, Eoin Cadogan, Lar Corbett and Mikey Carton.
It promises to be a fascinating look at the sacrifices which players make, and the motivation for their continuing to do so on cold wet mornings, far away from the moment in the sunshine that might define their place in our collective memory for a lifetime.
Next week, Sport for Business will start a series looking at the ways in which Ireland’s leading sporting organisations are managing the relationship with their clubs, the clubs that produce the stars we will see tonight, and who in many cases are struggling for survival.
