8,297Â – The number of children that participated in the Tata Kids of Steel initiative across 13 venues in Britain as part of a programme to introduce young participants to the sport. Â Triathlon Ireland pitched the idea of a similar competition in Ireland in 2014 to an audience of Business supporters at Sport for Business 20/20 last week.

0Â – The number of goals conceded by the Irish U19 soccer team in their two victories to date in the UEFA U19 European Championship Qualifying tournament. Â A 2-0 win over Azerbaijan was followed with a 1-0 success over Sweden on Sunday and assured qualification for the elite phase.

4 – The number of tickets to next summer’s One Direction concert that are among the 70 lots being auctioned in support of injured jockey JT McNamara at a special charity race day being held at Limerick racecourse today.
