For a sixth successive season, TG4 is to provide live, free-to-air coverage of women’s domestic football, confirming its continued broadcast partnership across the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, the Women’s FAI Cup and the Women’s All-Island Cup.

Through its Sacar na mBan Beo programming, TG4 will broadcast 17 live matches during the 2026 season, including 13 league fixtures, both Women’s FAI Cup semi-finals and final, and the Women’s All-Island Cup final. The announcement underlines TG4’s long-term commitment to the visibility and growth of women’s football in Ireland.

Coverage of the 2026 league season begins on Saturday, March 14th, as Shelbourne host Treaty United at Tolka Park, with a 14:30 kick-off. The opening broadcast sees Shelbourne manager Sean Russell face his former club in what promises to be a compelling Round 1 fixture.

TG4 will then turn its cameras to Tallaght Stadium on Saturday, March 21st, for the Dublin derby between Shamrock Rovers and Peamount United, with kick-off at the earlier time of 12:45. The match marks James O’Callaghan’s first home league game in charge of Rovers, coming against the club he previously led.

Round 4 action follows on Saturday, April 19th, when Treaty United welcome Galway United to Markets Field, with the match scheduled for 13:45.

Beyond league coverage, TG4 will once again broadcast the Women’s All-Island Cup Final on Saturday, July 18th, the fourth year of the cross-border competition.

The broadcaster will also show both Women’s FAI Cup semi-finals on Saturday, August 22nd, before culminating with live coverage of the Final from Tallaght Stadium on Sunday, September 27th.

“It is hugely important to have a broadcaster who believes in women’s football, and that is exactly what we have in TG4, whose commitment to promoting our top domestic competitions continues into the 2026 season,” said Mark Scanlon, League of Ireland Director.

“Following on from increased viewership last year, we are looking forward to working with TG4 to reach an even wider audience across the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, Women’s FAI Cup and Women’s All-Island Cup.”

“As we enter our sixth consecutive season of Sacar na mBan Beo on TG4, we are proud to continue as the exclusive free-to-air home of women’s domestic football in Ireland, added Rónán Ó Coisdealbha, TG4 Head of Sport.

“Our coverage of the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, the Women’s FAI Cup and the Women’s All-Island Cup reflects TG4’s ongoing commitment to women in sport and to the continued growth of these domestic competitions. We look forward to bringing another exciting season of top-level football to audiences across the country and worldwide.”

Sport for Business Perspective

TG4’s six-year commitment to women’s domestic football represents part of its consistent and impactful broadcast strategy in Irish women’s sport. Free-to-air exposure remains critical to growing participation, attendances and commercial confidence in the women’s game. By backing league, cup and cross-border competitions as a collective ecosystem, TG4 is helping to normalise women’s football as a premium sporting product.

As audience figures continue to rise, this sustained visibility strengthens the case for increased sponsorship investment, improved facilities and long-term professionalisation across the League of Ireland women’s pathway.
