TG4 will broadcast the 2025 Sports Direct Women’s FAI Cup Semi-Finals and Final live, solidifying its position as the exclusive home of domestic women’s football in Ireland.

TG4’s new agreement with the FAI marks a significant expansion of its sports coverage, adding the high-profile Sports Direct backed Women’s FAI Cup Semi-Finals and Final to its existing portfolio, which already includes the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division and the Women’s All-Island Cup.

This deal brings the total number of domestic women’s football matches broadcast on TG4 in 2025 to 17, including 13 league games, the All-Island Cup Final, and the three Women’s FAI Cup fixtures. Notably, it will be the first time the Cup Semi-Finals are shown live on free-to-air television in Ireland.

Coverage will begin in September with the Semi-Finals, followed by the Final on Sunday, October 19th. The competition kicks off in late June, featuring all 12 Premier Division clubs and four FAI Amateur Cup Semi-Finalists, with Quarter-Finals in mid-August.

FAI Commercial Director Sean Kavanagh praised TG4’s commitment, stating the broadcaster has “already shown brilliant support for the women’s game,” and that the new partnership “further underlines their commitment to the growth of the women’s game in Ireland.”

Rónán Ó Coisdealbha, TG4 Head of Sport, said the deal “reaffirms our ongoing commitment to the promotion and visibility of women’s sport,” adding that all matches will be available globally via the TG4 App and Player.

The official launch of the 2025 competition, including the First Round draw, will take place on June 5th at FAI Headquarters in Abbottstown.
