The Chequered Financial History of Staging Major Sport

We will be part of a romp through the chequered financial history of hosting major sporting events with host Vincent Wall on Taking Stock on Newstalk on Sunday morning between 10 am and 11 am.

The cities that did it right by utilising existing facilities, those who created a brand new identity for themselves through hosting and the venue with a population the size of Finglas that nonetheless racked up a €1 billion bill to host it’s own games all feature.

We also take a quick look at how Ireland approached our own failed bid to stage the Rugby World Cup.
