2016/17 Ulster Bank League Season Launch 7/9/2016Ulster Bank launched the sixth season of its sponsorship of the All Ireland League in Rugby yesterday.

It was also confirmed that for the third year in a row the Finals Day would take place back at the Aviva Stadium.

The naming rights to the league are part of a wider sponsorship whereby Ulster Bank are the official community partner of the IRFU.

The larger sponsorship by the RBS Group of the 6 Nations will be coming to an end this season and there has been no confirmation of the long term plans for Ulster Bank in this area.

The relationship in Ireland has served them well over the years though and it is the bank’s key sports relationship having previously been supporters of the All Ireland Football Championship in GAA.

This year’s League will have a new Dublin dimension with the promotion of Dublin University to Division 1A.  Ulster Bank’s Dublin HQ is just outside the entrance to Trinity on College Green and the proximity of the College Grounds will add a page for staff and customers alike.

The Trinity team is the world’s oldest Rugby club in continuous existence and has graduated players of the quality of Jamie Heaslip, IRFU Vice President Philip Orr, Hugo MacNeill and Niall Woods.
