Virgin Media Television will air live coverage of Ireland’s four matches in the Autumn Nations Series as Andy Farrell’s side takes on some of the world’s top sides at the Aviva Stadium.
Fresh from their series draw in South Africa, the Six Nations champions will welcome the rest of the southern hemisphere’s top sides to Dublin, with the latest installation of their rivalry with the All Blacks kicking things off and a reunion with Joe Schmidt on the cards in the final game against the Wallabies.
Coverage will be live on Virgin Media Television and Virgin Media Play, the brand-new streaming platform.
VMTV will also air more free-to-air UEFA Champions League action than ever, with eight games live every match week, two live on Virgin Media Two, and two live on Virgin Media More every Tuesday and Wednesday.
Football fans will also be treated to the best of international football, with live coverage of the UEFA Nations League and the run-in of the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division season.
In addition, throughout the autumn, there will be top-class horse racing from the UK and further afield, MMA action from Bellator and UFC, world-class athletics in the Diamond League, NFL games, and the historic first-ever Ireland women’s cricket games on Irish terrestrial television.
Sport for Business Context
RTÉ has dominated the summer with exclusive coverage of the Euro Championships, the Olympics, the Paralympic Games, and the All-Ireland Championships.
TG4 and Virgin Media add to the free-to-air landscape and will return to the sporting centre stage as the evenings draw in.
Having this level of coverage for the cost of a single TV licence and sitting through some advertising is a small price to pay and should never be taken for granted, as anyone who has spect time in the rest of Europe will attest, where free-to-air coverage usually is limited even at the biggest of occasions to just the national team and very little else.
Sport for Business, in partnership with Allianz, will hold the 2024 Sport for Business Sport for Social Good Conference on Thursday, October 24th. This is one of ten events currently planned for the remainder of 2024.
