It’s two weeks out tonight from the 2019 Darkness Into Light Walk.

Electric Ireland’s support for the event has been one of the most recognised and award winning sponsorships of recent years and sport has had a major part to play.

Clubs and teams up and down the country use the Walk in their local area to gather away from the sideline or the hall and spend time with friends and colleagues helping those who are in a darker place in their personal lives.

We did it last year and it was a moving occasion. This year we will be heeding the advice of others and stepping out in Bray where the sun coming over over the horizon of the Irish Sea is spectacular.

There are coffee shops and restaurants opening up especially to cater for the hundreds who will make the effort.

Registration is open right now for walks taking place at over 200 locations around the country, from Achill to Youghal.

It’s a cause that is close to so many of us and showing that you care can be the trigger to save somebody close to you or within your community.
