Energia On Board with PRO12

PRO12 Rugby has signed a new partnership with energy provider Energia for the Guinness PRO12 Final Series covering the two semi finals and the Final itself which takes place in Dublin at the Aviva Stadium on May 27th.

Just two rounds remain in the Guinness PRO12 with Leinster having secured a home semi final and Munster also guaranteeing a place in the Final Four last weekend.

The two remaining places bidding to get to the knock out semi finals are Ulster, Scarlets, Ospreys and Glasgow.

Energia’s partnership, brokered by Sport for Business member The Brand Fans, will kick in for the semi finals and the Final which will take place two weeks after the Champions’ Cup Final and the week before the departure of the British and Irish Lions, creating a strong finish to the season.

“As part of this sponsorship, we’ll be giving rugby fans the chance to get closer to the game with exclusive prizes, so keep an eye on our social media channels,” said Alan Mulcahy, Head of Sales at Energia.

The deal shows the value of having the closing stages in Ireland and featuring irish teams as Energia’s focus is very much on the domestic market.

“Energia has strong roots across Ireland in terms of customers, employees and wind farms,” added Mulcahy.

“Our business and home energy customers know that competitiveness is a key value for us. For that reason, it was an easy decision to support this hugely important competition for Ireland’s provinces.”

“Energia are one of the most innovative brands in the Irish market and with our ‘Fan First’ philosophy they are an ideal partner for the Guinness PRO12 Final Series,” said Dermot Rigley, Commercial & Marketing Director for PRO12 Rugby.

“We’re really excited about their plans to engage with our supporters, who follow one of the most entertaining rugby tournaments in the world.”

“There is a tremendous energy to our Championship at the moment with tries being scored at a record rate. Ticket sales have been strong and all signs are pointing towards another record-setting occasion.”
