Solgar has announced Joe O’Connor as its newest ambassador, strengthening its ties to Gaelic games as the company marks 40 years in Ireland.
The Kerry All-Ireland winner joins an established group of intercounty athletes already aligned with the brand, including Katie Quirke, Niamh Mallon and Tom Morrissey.
Solgar is currently the Official Vitamin Partner of both the Gaelic Athletic Association and the Gaelic Players Association, and also a sponsor of the GAA Museum. The addition of O’Connor further reinforces its strategy of aligning with leading players across Gaelic football, camogie and hurling.
The announcement comes as part of the momentum behind the 2026 Championship season, with Solgar also launching a “Player’s Choice Bundle”, a tailored supplement offering designed to support training and performance demands. The product range is being distributed through health food stores, pharmacies and online channels nationwide.
Natalia Lobetska of Solgar said the appointment reflects both the milestone year for the brand and its continued investment in elite sport partnerships in Ireland.
“We are thrilled to welcome Joe to the team and to celebrate this very special milestone by partnering with a player who embodies achieving your daily best,” she said, highlighting the brand’s ongoing collaboration with the GAA and GPA.
O’Connor described the partnership as an opportunity to align with a long-established brand supporting athlete performance.
“I’m delighted to join the Solgar team and to be part of a special milestone moment for the brand,” he said.
Fellow ambassador Niamh Mallon pointed to the strength of the athlete group, while Katie Quirke and Tom Morrissey both highlighted the momentum behind the partnership as it enters its second year.
From a Sport for Business perspective, the announcement underlines the continued value of athlete-led endorsement strategies within Gaelic games, where brands are leveraging trusted intercounty figures to drive credibility, engagement and product awareness across a broad grassroots and national audience.
